Tuesday Mike, Jan and Anna Blaskova went to the Blasko ancestral village of Slanske Nove Mesto with hopes of finding some information on distant Blasko relatives. Pam and Rachel stayed in Kosice and shopped the Centrum. The clerk at the municipal building was very helpful (her maiden name was also Blaskova), made several phone calls and even walked the village with us to a few Blasko family homes. Sadly, no one had any information.

Coming back from Slanske Nove Mesto we passed through the village of Slanec where the ruins of the Slanec castle could be seen.   
 

Later we went and was treated to lunch at Peter and Iveta's apartment in Kosice. After lunch we walked along the lake and had a few cokes at an outdoor cafe while Arianna and Bianka played. On the way back to the apartment we walked along the Hornad River past the lock and dam and stopped at a small amusement area.
